111 By Mayfair – Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
111 By Mayfair is committed to managing and reducing its carbon footprint as part of our long-term approach to sustainable hospitality. We recognise the importance of actively measuring, managing and minimising emissions generated by our property’s energy use, guest operations and ongoing maintenance.
Our carbon reduction efforts began with a full property renovation in 2024, designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational emissions. As part of this, we installed
A solar PV system to generate clean electricity on-site
A battery storage system to maximise use of renewable energy and reduce grid reliance
High-efficiency LED lighting and appliances
Water-efficient fixtures and improved insulation
We monitor energy consumption monthly to track performance and ensure our systems are working optimally. The solar and battery setup has significantly reduced peak grid demand, with the majority of daytime energy needs now met by solar generation.
Key actions:
Ongoing monitoring of PV and battery output
Encouraging staff to follow energy-saving protocols
Reviewing data to identify opportunities for further efficiency
Year 1: Maintain below-average energy use for a property of this size
Year 2: Reduce grid electricity consumption by 20% compared to baseline
Year 3: Offset any remaining emissions through verified environmental projects
We encourage guests to take part in our low-carbon approach by:
Providing clear information on energy-saving behaviours
Promoting low-carbon transport options and local activities
Educating guests about our solar and battery system in welcome materials
Explore EV charging installation to further support low-carbon travel
Assess the addition of smart heating controls or occupancy sensors
Review scope for biodiversity planting and habitat support to enhance carbon sequestration
Summary:
Our carbon management strategy is based on real, measurable changes to the way the property operates — driven by clean energy generation, thoughtful design, and continuous improvement. As part of the wider Mayfair Group and in partnership with Encom Energy, we’re committed to making 111 By Mayfair part of a lower-carbon future for tourism and property alike.
